Our Core Function

Collection Centres

Collection Centres are critical infrastructure in the e-waste value chain, serving as the requisite link between consumers (households, businesses, and public and private offices), informal collectors, and recycling/treatment facilities.

These centres will be located within the specified Government jurisdiction and operate according to the prescribed National standards. They serve as the backbone of Nigeria's formal e-waste management system, ensuring that electronic waste is handled responsibly from the point of collection to final recycling.

At Recycle Ayika, our Collection Centres are designed to make it easy, safe, and rewarding for everyone — from individual households to large corporations — to dispose of their electronic waste properly.

Provision of e-waste drop-off access for informal collectors and consumers.

Collection & Aggregation

Collection and aggregation of e-waste for transportation to recycling facilities.

Collector Coordination

Coordination of informal collectors in their assigned jurisdiction.

Incentive Payments

Payment of specified incentives to informal collectors and consumers.

Proper Receptacles

Provision of appropriate receptacles for the different categories of e-waste.

Secure Safekeeping

Ensuring the safekeeping of e-waste without exposure to pilfering, cherry-picking, and adverse conditions.

Electronic Records

Maintaining accurate electronic records of e-waste collected per collection source and per product category, describing the collection performance and cost indication sent to recycling centres, and must regularly report to EPRON following the specified format and timeline.

Operator Remuneration

Please note: Operators of collection centres will be remunerated monthly based on the quantity of e-waste collected, as well as the space and number of receptacles provided. This ensures a fair and sustainable model for all stakeholders in the e-waste value chain.
